We have made children’s bibles and books with Christian themes more accessible during worship, as an offering alongside our worship bags.

We've created a Children’s Worship Resource Center in the narthex.

(2) Ukuleles have been received and plans are underway to use them in the Christmas Pageant.

(3) The children at FPC across all age ranges have become even more involved in, and increasingly comfortable with, participation in worship services (readings, Minute for Mission, ushering, etc.).
Hill United Presbyterian Church

On October 6, 2024 we held our first child-led service, with 5 young disciples participating. The children enjoyed being able to lead the congregation during worship, and the service was well received by those in attendance.

The children are excited to start learning how to use the puppets for our next child-led service, and we were able to recruit a new adult volunteer from the congregation who has a background in theater to come and teach the children about voice acting. ​

We had a puppet stage built for us. Just the stage itself has caused a couple of children to literally dance and sing ("We have a puppet stage. We have a puppet stage.").

We purchased more welcome bags for the children and items for inside them.

Our children's ministry has grown and our group of volunteers has significantly grown with it.

When I preached, I used the children's Bible in the pews for the New Testament (John 6: 1-15) reading. It was read as a choral reading from Growing in God's Love Children's Bible which are now in our pews.

The pastor has started to use language like "Please find the scripture reading in the pew Bible and help the child next to you find it as well

Most of the children are staying in worship so the church is considering cutting back on child care staff as usage is often at 0.
